October Updates: Life is changing!

socialanthropologistHello, friends!

It is finally October, one of my favourite months, and there are lots to do, lots to learn and lots of joy!

What’s happening over here? Well, my timetable is full, that’s for sure. So much happening at once, so many positive changes, and a few wistful ones. This year is literally changing my life.

What does that mean?

Firstly, I have (for the thousandth time) found out that I do not have super powers and I cannot possibly do everything that I would like to do – and continue do everything that I used to do on top of the new stuff.

It is time to prioritize.

From November onwards I will only be working three jobs: Lecturing as a social anthropologist, teaching Norwegian, continue my writing.

As they say in German; with one sad and one happy eye, I’ve quit the job in the shop, but I’m still working there until October 31st. So October is a month in which I’m still doing “everything” – and there are so few hours left to relax. The few hours have to be used very wisely. As much as I will miss working with my colleges at the shop I also look very much forward to focusing on the academic teaching and my writing. I am also thrilled to say that I will soon be conducting research again as a part of my job in the academia. The green leaves are turning into yellow, red and orange. Changes are continuing – all for the better – although it hurts a bit when leaves fall to the ground to be replaced by new ones. I love what is happening and look forward to each new, scary step on my journey.

Fear is an indicator that you’re expanding and growing. I dare you to do what YOU are a little scared of – and see where it leads you. Doors you didn’t even know existed, might open! If you do – or if you too have recently challenged yourself, I’d love to hear from you in the comments!

Before my life gets easier in November, I have to endure October and the double amount of work, waiting for the rest and peace of late autumn.

So many positive changes – what more did I have in mind?

Secondly, I’m on a healing journey. I realized at my writer’s retreat how off my health is and how dearly I need to do what I can to let my body heal completely. I’m focusing holistically on physical, mental and spiritual health. Earthing. Being outside. Drinking green smoothies. Jogging and yoga. Drinking green tea. Spend time with my family whenever I can. Sleeping enough. In order to reach my dreams – keeping my body healthy is the best gift I can give myself. I already feel an increase in my energies – and I’m aiming for the best health that I ever had. My dreams and I deserve it.

Are you on a healing journey, too? What are you doing to optimize your health? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

Finally – what is the plan for my writing career?

Because of my full timetable in October I have postponed my crowdfunding campaign.

Right now, I’m aiming for a crowdfunding campaign starting at the 1st of February to finally be able to publish A Heart of Fire.

NEWS!!! The BOOK COVER of A Heart of Fire is almost ready and will soon be revealed!!!!!

STAY TUNED!!!

Are you writing? How far are you on your book? Would love to hear from you!!!

Did you like this post? Would love to hear your thoughts on it in the comments and please feel free to share it!

All the best,

Agnete

  1. You’ll only be working three jobs instead of four. O_O

Like, I have a full time day job and the writing job and I am swamped. You’ll drop from four to three, so I have to ask you: what exactly are you drinking/eating? Because clearly I need those too. 😀

Seriously though, your changes sound awesome and with teaching Norwegian I can see how you can fit in three jobs in your schedule. I hear you about healing the body, I consider your post here my call to start on a similar journey, so thank you. 😀

And yay for the cover and totally yay for the campaign, I hope all goes well, I’ll be cheering. 😀

  2. Hi, Aura!

Haha, to be more precise, none of the jobs I work are fulltime. If they were, I would be superwoman 😀 But right now, the four of them are far more than fulltime, it will be about fulltime INCLUDING my writing from November on, so that’s included, which is perfect. 😀 Haha, but I also highly recommend green smoothies. 😉

Perfect! I’m happy that I could be of inspiration – healing the body (and the mind) is the best journey you’ll ever take! 😀 Go for it!

Thank you so much for cheering!!! Right back at ya, cheering for you too! 😀

  3. Really enjoyed getting to know you, Agnete 🙂 (thanks to Aura for the Twitter introduction)

First of all, I think you might be superwoman in managing to fit all of that in! Prioritising is one of the hardest things we do, I think, and it’s so easy to get it wrong, which can be catastrophic for our health and well being.

This year I challenged myself to write my first novel, which I did, and am now querying. Facing my fear of failure was a huge moment for me.

I look forward to reading more of your words soon!

  4. Hi, Beverly!

Thanks for you comment – and great to meet you too! 😉

Congrats on finishing your novel!!! That’s terrific! Good luck with the next steps! When we do things we fear, we’re growing and expanding. Well done on facing your fears! The sky is the limit.

Look forward to follow you as well. 😉
